I would not do markups in a Qur'an but journalling and making "reflections" and studying Tafseer is a good way of learning to understand and comprehend and gain knowledge. One could re-write (the Qur'an) and do things that way if one wants to follow this way I think and that would also help to learn Arabic (or "Quranic Arabic" and in one's memorization of the Qur'an) - is a good idea.



But then others say - "be cautious" as well - which I would advise - I think it's okay to highlight but not to make a bunch of markings etc. Just to keep your book clean and in good condition (as well) but out of respect and fear of Allah as well I think so:

- I went online and made my own Taraweeh guide and notes from these sites - also on how to perform Witr prayers.

Hey _____(friend - or reader), as-salaam alaikum, I found these guides and they seem excellent (very good, pious) to my mind.




Seems to be from Malaysia I believe, which the dominant madhab there is Shaffii. Am not completely sure [what madhab or where exactly it all comes from] but that does seem to make sense. I think it seems really good, especially the witr prayer guide - I really like the Duas as well even though the ending or last Taraweeh dua is quite long (true) it is very good and nice. To my mind, we make dua coming from our own selves all the time and if the objection is Allah, the Prophet S.A.W., etc. (their love and/or pleasure with us and our actions) and nullifying our own selves and egos at least to an extent (a little bit if not totally) in regards to Salat (it's not as if Allah S.W.T. doesn't want us to pray to him and to recognize our dependence on him and be thankful) - anyway, not everyone has the same mindset or understanding. I get tired of myself and my dua's....Ramadan is a special time, these are special prayers, it is an honor to be able to do them in my opinion - is an honor and blessing to do salat at all of course (obligatory yes, but a blessing as well, yes).

"It is encouraged to complete each rakah with a lengthy surah. However, can recite what you know - Do them in order/the correct order" (from the Quran) (I am guessing/surmising).


and


- Taraweeh means "rest" as, after every four Rakah, one rests.

- Don't overburden yourself for the next day. Only do what you can smartly do (think).

- Very special (Taraweeh prayers are) - "...do it for the pleasure and forgiveness of Allah alone, then all his past sins are forgiven" The Rasulullah S.A.W. - Muslim - Abu Hurairah R.A. --- Also (he S.A.W.) called it "the Qiam of Ramadan".



- Others do it differently - doing a personal prayer at the last rakah before going into sujood for example. That seems nice as well.

- Yep, oftentimes it is not an individual's choice of their predicament, but how one responds to that and the mindset one has to that situation...sometimes one's hands are tied, and that can be a good thing at times. To me the Qur'an makes total sense and is just an admonition for man/men to do good and Fear God. To not blame God/Allah for other people treating them wrong but a healing possibly in the heart of knowing, justice prevails. This can ease a person's heart just like forgiving others and moving on from a situation or event can. There is definite right and wrong. One can't make excuses or try to say that because their Christian that they're free to sin or free to treat others badly, etc. To me, it just makes sense - but it goes deeper than that as well of course. - Take "over-responsibility" - do good. Everything happens for a reason, but also, take responsibility.



72. Truly, We did offer the Amanah to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they declined to bear it and were afraid of it. But man bore it. Verily, he was unjust and ignorant. 73. So that Allah will punish the hypocrites, men and women, and the men and women who are idolators. And Allah will pardon the believers, men and women. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Al-`Awfi reported that Ibn `Abbas said, "Al-Amanah means obedience. This was offered to them before it was offered to Adam, and they could not bear it. Then Allah said to Adam: `I have offered the Amanah to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they could not bear it. Will you take it on' He said, `O Lord, what does it involve' He said, `If you do good, you will be rewarded, and if you do evil, you will be punished.' So Adam took the Amanah and bore it, and this is what is referred to in the Ayah:

6:47 pupils at his Public School School in his earlier days and Donald Trump hasn't

6:53 yet been arrested although it's early days who knows what's going to happen

8:26 made his first visit outside the country and it was to Moscow what has turned

8:33 into an unbreakable Alliance an alliance based on many historic factors but one

8:40 very important contemporary one an alliance based on the Contemporary

8:45 reality that the United States is gunning for both Russia and China if

8:52 necessary at the same time a tall order you might think for a country that can't

8:58 produce clean drinking water for many of the eight citizens a tall order for a

9:04 country where many of the banks are beginning to Tumble and the others being saved by historic Herculean tasks of

9:13 quantitative easing printing more and more dollars based on less and less yes

9:19 material economic realities a tall order for a country that had to slink out of

9:26 Afghanistan like a thief in the night beaten by men in sandals on bicycles

9:31 carrying klushenkov strung across their shoulder but there seems no end to the

9:38 appetite for war in the United States and its bipartisan with the exception of

9:45 Donald Trump who probably wants to fight just one of these adversaries rather

9:51 than both at the same time and in any case as I speak he still faces the

9:56 threat of arrest but the Republican and Democratic Leadership in the U.S

10:02 Congress are absolutely United in maintaining a visceral

10:08 hostility towards two of their competitors one of them which happens to

10:14 own a very great deal of United States debt and one of them happens to be the

10:20 place where so many of the Commodities necessary for the working of European

10:25 and North American capitalism are to be found it is a tall order indeed and so

10:33 president XI jinping's visit to Moscow to Vladimir Putin three whole days their

10:40 first meeting took four and a half hours now I've been around diplomacy and

10:47 politics for very many decades and that is a long meeting by anybody's standards

10:54 but they had so much to discuss on the economic level no doubt on the military

11:01 technical level on the Diplomatic level and on the political level and it seems

11:07 that the visit was an outstanding success certainly if you judge it by the

11:13 excitement it has created across the world you would have to judge it a

11:18 success now some in the west will be surprised to hear me calling it exciting

11:24 but you have to know that we represent just 13

11:29 of the population of the world this is the fact I never Tire of making and

11:36 pointing out but have to because so much of our world view is fixed upon the

11:44 fallacious idea that we are the world you'll remember that charity is single

11:49 We are the world that they sang out in Britain and the United States but we

11:55 really are not the United States is four percent of the population of the world

12:01 if you take the West as a whole and only if you define places like Australia as

12:07 being in the west which is of course a Defiance of geography itself and only if

12:14 you exclude the obvious fact that many many millions of the people in the west

34:06 Ukraine it's a binary question yes or no a yes B no professor before the break uh

34:16 we were talking about the negative reaction the the jealous suspicious

34:22 reaction that Western leaders have expressed about the Summit is that what

34:30 is reflected in public opinion do you think not that public opinion will

34:36 decide whether the war ends or not but from initial look at the results of

34:43 our polls so far two-thirds of the people don't think it will lead to peace do you think it might

34:50 well I'm hopeful number one you mentioned and I mentioned to that you know there's already this uh you know

34:56 historical precedent that is unprecedented you know from our side and also from the world side that is uh

35:03 China brokered the peace between Saudi Arabia and Iran right so that you you have already not president second you

35:10 know you have Chinese government has a strong record of contributing to uh U.N

35:15 LED peacekeeping missions around the world and third you look at you know China's relationship with Russia it's a

35:22 very unusual partnership we don't use the word Alliance unlike you know NATO and others right but it's something that

35:29 is even more closer intimate more trust between the two partners than sometimes

35:36 you will see between the Allies let's say in the NATO and so I think you know given their trust given their you know

35:42 long-time friendship I think it's a very likely I would use the word uh better

35:47 chances than possible that they're something positive something substantive would happen perhaps in a few days or a

35:55 few weeks so let's see yeah Professor I know Saudi Arabia and Iran yeah

36:01 extremely intimately over many decades and I've got to tell you if I could hand you a Nobel Peace Prize right now to

36:09 China for brokering that deal I mean I nearly fell off my chair when I saw how

36:16 you had I was shocked too you know when I woke up in the morning extraordinary achievement and even more extraordinary

36:24 that it has it's been virtually ignored in Western media like it never happened even though Iran is one of our primary

36:32 adversaries in Saudi Arabia one of our primary allies and of course the fruits of it will be

36:43 felt not just between these two great Regional Powers themselves but across all manner of conflicts from the yam man

36:50 to Lebanon it's uh extraordinary let's get an American perspective will be an

before I left the the states to come here and of course incredibly negative and I'll actually one-up what the fine

37:50 professor said I think goes beyond jealousy it goes into the U.S views this as as a existential threat the China and

37:58 Russia uh working together and the the us our ruling Elite our ruling vampires

38:04 uh think that no country should exist on this earth that is not subservient to

38:10 the U.S and you know in a in a kind of more specific sense they view it as a

38:16 threat to the Petro dollar a threat to the the global Reserve currency and so

38:22 they don't want to see peace there are many places around the world that they absolutely don't want to see peace one is Ukraine uh another is Syria and

38:29 between Iran and Saudi Arabia is another one and the U.S if there is going to be peace in these places the US wants to be

38:36 the one to say we decided there will be peace there and so I I think the the U.S views this as an existential threat and

38:43 of course all the coverage has been negative and it's like when the U.S meets with someone it's because the U.S

38:49 it's a wonderful thing in the U.S decided that we will impart our wisdom upon them but when other countries meet

38:55 together it's like the you know the dark siths and Star Wars have come together how dare someone meet with this country

39:02 that's an adversary of ours uh like they're like people are immediately corrupted you remember when when Trump

39:07 met with Putin the U.S the liberal side of the U.S media acted like oh well the

39:12 moment he speaks to him his brain will be warped by the evil Putin you know and it's like diplomacy is the only thing

39:18 that has ever created any peace any stability in this world we need diplomacy everywhere well I mean when he

39:26 met even more when Trump met uh Kim Jong-un the North Korean leader right I

39:32 mean they almost uh went into a parish

39:39 and yet how else are you going to get right peace how else are you going to

39:45 end conflicts by that as I recall the end of World War II also involves Stalin Churchill and

39:51 FDR sitting down exactly but apparently nowadays we view sitting down and talking peace as something that must be

39:58 stopped and as you mentioned at the top of the show uh you know Boris Johnson was sent in uh as an emissary of the

40:05 United States to shut down that peace deal that could have stopped a year of Bloodshed a year of ukrainians and

40:12 millions of ukrainians would be alive today yeah if that had not been done it's a very very serious charge


just in advance of President G arriving in Moscow the American uh press

40:34 spokesman Kirby I think his name is he said a ceasefire would be

40:40 unacceptable now if ever there was any pretense that this

40:46 is a proxy war it's abandoned by that kind of statement because what if

40:51 Ukraine wanted a ceasefire the U.S has just declared it unacceptable the word

40:58 unacceptable was used so in a sense events are moving at such a pace

41:05 that they're having to uh abandon any

41:10 pretense of seeking an end to this war they actually want this war to continue don't they yeah and and even you know

41:17 you mentioned how they've pretended it's not a proxy war but many there are many examples piecemeal of top U.S officials

41:25 calling it a proxy war even former CIA head Leon Panetta said in an interview this is a proxy war whether we call it

41:31 that or not and we can't lose it so the admission of this being a proxy war is there uh to to give a little bit of Hope

41:39 to the fact that there could be some peace months down the road uh you know the Rand report was leaked uh you know

41:48 higher United States think tank that makes a lot of the U.S policy decisions and it said basically that the U.S has

41:55 kind of gotten some of what they wanted from this proxy war what they haven't gotten from this proxy war which is the

42:00 boomeranging of sanctions and things like that isn't going to happen the sanctions are not going to crush Russia

42:05 Putin's not going to leave office the stuff that they wanted to get that hasn't had happen is not going to happen

42:11 so in a way that dragging this out actually could be detrimental to the United States and I think we have seen

42:17 some very little test balloons uh of the U.S saying things like uh sending things

42:22 to zelinski like we you need to make great gains in this next month because after that we're not sure about whether

42:28 we can keep funding an arm in this thing which is these slight comments that that hint that the U.S may be ready to allow

42:36 this to wrap up which why should it even be up to the U.S the U.S shouldn't be dictating these things but

42:41 the next guest I can safely say is one of the most

42:46 popular guests ever on the mother of all directions and I had to come to Beijing to see her in person Lee Jing Jing

43:10 you will how the Chinese people see it are they deeply interested are they

43:17 proud do they see their country now in an even brighter light than they did

43:24 before now that it's moved Beyond I mean next year China will become a high

43:30 income economy uh which considering what it was in 1949

43:38 one of the 10 poorest countries in the world to go to being one of the high

43:46 income economists which only around I think 10 12 percent of the people of the

43:52 world live in high income economies is a tremendous achievement but now it seems

43:58 China has embarked upon an international role that is finally beginning to emerge

44:06 as really historically significant do the Chinese people know that yeah so

44:11 first thank you so much Jordan for the kind introduction I'm so happy that I

44:16 can be on modes again again in person with you in Beijing how awesome is this

44:21 so happy to be with all of you and to our question first you mentioned about

44:27 the China's peaceful role in this on the international stage um I think most Chinese people are very

44:33 aware of this and they are so happy about this because I mean to to bring

44:40 Saudi Arabia and Iran this two arch enemy to to shake hands I mean everybody

44:46 in the world should be happy about this so so they know the role I mean this is the demonstration of the road that China

44:54 wants to play in the world we want to we want peace because I think it's trying to rise the Western several Western

45:00 Media or countries they keep portraying China well if China succeed if they got

45:05 to be the number one they're going to be the next Empire they're going to dominate you they're going to colonize you they have no difference from from us

45:12 but I think this is perfect example no China is not in our traditional culture

45:17 in Chinese people's mindset you know Wars and conflicts and the colonization

45:23 is never the way we we do things and a few months ago I interviewed a African

45:30 scholar and he he said we can trace the history that first

45:35 um Explorer from China landed in the African continent of 1500 years ago they landed and they

45:42 went back they didn't dominate their place and uh 100 years later they come

45:48 to work with us so still we work closely narrow for once they colonize us I think

45:54 the same third official from Indonesia so we work with China for 2000 years they never colonized us we work with the

46:01 the Europe for 200 years they colonize us so that difference and this deal piece deal is a perfect example and you

46:09 see there are two branches of Islam they have so many differences they fight for

46:15 such a long time but they are mediated by China and I think that's a huge blow

46:22 to U.S to the West who spend so much money on funding the separatists to to

46:28 spread the disinformation that there's no freedom of of for Muslims in China I think one purpose

46:34 for that not only to this liberalize China but also try to drive a wedge between China and Arab states and Muslim

46:40 countries but apparently Muslim countries are not believing that we're what we think they come to xinjiang they

46:46 come to China Sea well it's fine well they come to China to resolve their conflicts

46:57 just Dawning here in China next few hours Ramadan will begin in in Western

47:05 countries this has been one of the most persistent lies of Western propaganda

47:12 that China is somehow hostile to Islam hostile to Muslims as a matter of fact I

47:29 big Muslim population but it's been a quite a successful life

47:34 uh in the public opinion not amongst uh Muslim governments they have almost all

47:40 publicly declared that this uh we got question as a hoax it's deliberate

47:47 disinformation it's the opposite of the truth but I can tell you from my own

47:53 contact with Muslims certainly in Britain it's quite widely believed now

47:59 you have done a lot of work on this subject I've seen your reports from it

48:05 the truth is there are there are more mosques in xinjiang than there is in the

48:13 whole of the United States and the European Union put together the population far from there being a

48:20 genocide the population of the uyghurs is growing faster than any other part of the

48:28 Chinese population and the living standards of the ethnic minorities in

48:34 China is growing faster than any other part of the population just briefly if

48:41 you would summarize the the extent to which this is a false story yeah so

48:47 maybe take a very recent news I believe this never been shown on Western

48:52 mainstream media because just a few months ago a delegation of Muslim leaders Muslim figures from several

49:00 major Muslim countries visited xinjiang and the leader of the international I

49:06 forgot the official name but the leader of the in World International Muslim Community issued a announcement they

49:14 praised China's method to fight against the terrorism in xinjiang and this they

49:20 they it's a it's a very long one I retweeted before but I will retweet again on my Twitter after this show to

49:26 let you see it so in the announcement they appraised they saw the diversity in

49:31 xinjiang they saw the uighurs and other Muslim minorities are not being oppressed they saw what China is doing

49:38 against a fighting against extremism they think it's reasonable so and they

49:43 they meet everybody in xinjiang in China so if we're all fighting against extremism the

49:51 other countries send cruise missiles and bombs and make war on on Muslim

49:58 countries China's fight against extremism and and separatism has been

51:51 protectionist measures that they are introducing how will China cope with

51:57 that well this is a very hard especially for companies involved in these fights like

52:04 you mentioned Tick Tock you mentioned you know way back in starting with the ZTE in a Huawei and many of these

52:11 companies have been sanctioned by U.S Department of Commerce right entity list

52:16 this is a you know I study U.S politics I studied in Chicago for six years

52:22 so I think this is a strike me as kind of a degeneration of American capitalism

52:27 now if something happens similar happens here in China that the Chinese government say something or do something

52:34 to I say American company Microsoft or Google Now American governments say what

52:39 about intellectual property rights you know this is a business environment and

52:44 so uh Innovation ownership property private property

52:49 right because these are business companies and so this is now happening to Chinese companies in a country that

52:56 is supposed to be the world's freest economy the country that supposedly

53:01 offers the world's best protection of intellectual property rights and so now

53:06 Tick Tock for example is being forced like you said a real chance that this

53:11 company has to be sold to an American company otherwise Tick Tock has to close

53:17 its shop in United States and lose about 150 million users right this shock me as

53:22 this is not America this is not capitalist this is like in a national

53:28 security paranoia like Americans are getting very unsure

53:33 about what they are doing they want to out-compute China but like you said they

53:38 can't beat China on this you know you know technological innovation and so they say we're gonna confiscate the

53:46 Chinese company that's outrageous in a country where you're supposed to have this sanctity of

53:53 private property well that's all just lipstick on the pig it's about hegemony a quick break I'll

1:02:43 just happened in early March which is the two sessions I covered it as a journalist two two sessions is two

1:02:50 meetings between it's very fundamental institutional guarantee for China's political system is the national

1:02:57 people's Congress and Chinese people's political consultative conference these

1:03:02 two together caught two sessions so during this meeting every year deputies

1:03:08 and members through these two sessions come from all around China every region every ethnic groups every sectors come

1:03:15 together to to to to to make decisions to legislate to vote elect government

1:03:22 officials to to to to give their promotes proposals to the central

1:03:28 government and even before the national people's Congress the Congress is from

1:03:34 local level from Township County City provincial all took place before that to

1:03:40 make sure opinions suggestions advice proposals can raise from the bottom to

1:03:45 up grad actually to the central level to the National level and at the national level everybody will discuss review what

1:03:52 should be taken into place what should should be putting to the law so I for example some may Wonder are those

1:03:59 deputies actually making a difference to the country I interviewed one one teacher who is a who works in a rural

1:04:07 area in Shandon Province her job was her her goal for her life is to improve the

1:04:13 rural education system so uh in the past 15 years being as a deputy for the

1:04:19 national people of congress she made 240 proposals on different subjects half of

1:04:25 them have have already been implemented into law some were incorporated into criminal law some incorporating to

1:04:32 provincial laws and it has past 15 years her opinions improved from improving

1:04:39 infrastructures of schools in rural regions to 10 years ago to improve in

1:04:46 to to recruit more qualified teachers to recruit music teachers art teachers and

1:04:51 PE teachers to nowadays she wants to improve the uh give psychological

1:04:56 consultations for for students so from different proposals she proposed in the past few years you can see the
